Frequently asked
The questions we hear most,
with honest answers.
If you have a question we haven’t answered here, text us or book a consultation. We’d rather answer it than guess.
Before you book.
How much does a custom closet cost?
Depends on size, drawers, accessories, and finish. We scope every project at consultation and give you a fixed-price proposal before anything's built. The price you approve is the price you pay.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. The first 15-minute virtual call is free, no strings. We only charge when you approve a proposal and place a deposit.
How long does the whole process take?
Four to six weeks from first call to finished install. Most of that is build time. Install runs 1 to 3 days.
Do you have to come out to measure?
Our online measure tool walks you through what we need in 10 to 15 minutes, and that's enough to start the design. Before we order materials, we always come on site to verify dimensions in person. The two-step process keeps install day clean of surprises.
Materials and design.
Can I see the closet before you build it?
Yes. Every project includes a 3D rendering we walk through with you before you approve the proposal. You see drawers, hardware, lighting, and finishes in your actual room layout.
What finishes do you offer?
Dozens of melamine colors from our vendor's catalog, plus every door style, hardware option, drawer, shelf, and lighting accessory we install. We'll walk through every option at consultation. If you want to see materials in person before you decide, we can set up an in-person meeting.
Can you match existing trim or cabinetry?
We get as close as our melamine catalog allows. There are dozens of colors and woodgrain finishes to pick from. If you want to hold swatches against your existing trim, we can set up an in-person meeting before you finalize the choice.
Can I mix finishes in the same closet?
Absolutely. A woodgrain island paired with a solid white perimeter is one of our most popular combinations. Both finishes are melamine, so the look stays consistent and the materials wear the same way over time.
Install day and after.
Are your installers employees or subcontractors?
All employees. Every new install is run by our team, start to finish. We do use a sub for tearing out existing closets before we come in. The new system itself? Always us.
What if something shifts or breaks later?
Call us. We're based in Columbia and we service what we install. If something needs adjustment or repair, we'll come take a look. We still have customers calling about jobs we installed in the 90s.
What if I move?
The system is built for the house, not the owner. That said, we can uninstall and reinstall a closet at a new home for a fee, if the new layout works.
Money and timing.
How does payment work?
60% deposit at proposal approval. 40% at install completion. The deposit covers materials and build. The balance is due the day we finish installing. We accept check, card, or bank transfer.
Do you offer financing?
We don't offer financing.
What's your service area?
Mid-Missouri: Columbia, Jefferson City, Lake of the Ozarks, Fulton, Boonville, Sedalia, Mexico, Centralia, and the small towns in between. Built in 34 towns so far. Outside that area, just ask.
